Hiking, climbing, trail running
From challenging glacier tours to leisurely family hikes, Obergurgl offers everything from over 20 three-thousand metre peaks. If you prefer climbing, there are two family-friendly via ferratas in the immediate neighbourhood. Another highlight is the “Naturdenkmal Zirbenwald”, a natural monument with pine trees up to 300 years old! The popular “glacier trail run” (Gletscher Trail run) also takes place in Gurgl every summer.
Skiing & tobogganing
Winter holidays right on the slopes
Nestled between peaks and glaciers, Obergurgl is Austria's highest church village - and therefore a ski area with guaranteed snow from November to April. With the Superskipass you can explore a total of six ski areas in the Ötztal!
If you prefer something a little quieter, you can go tobogganing, cross-country skiing or snowshoeing. At Haus Elisabeth you can ski right up to your own front door!

About Elisabeth
"I grew up in my parents' small bed and breakfast, the Haus Enzian in Obergurgl. It has now grown into a hotel and is run by my brother. Haus Elisabeth also originally belonged to my parents before they handed it over to me. I have been a passionate hostess in Gurgl for a long time and am convinced that I live in the most beautiful place in the world. Or as my children always say: We live where others go on holiday!"
